Crisis Management is the process by which a company or organization addresses a major happening that threatens to harm the organization, its stakeholders or the general public. Every company ought to be prepared with a defined Crisis Management Plan.
A Crisis Management Plan (CMP) is a basic guide to providing a response system to a major crisis or emergency occurring on your physical site (fire or harmful acts of nature); with your product (danger recall or nonperformance); and/or within your industry (product obsolescence); or management misstep or death. Once news is out about a current or impending crisis, there is likely to be immediate negative impact to your stock price, sales and/or reputation.
